Jesus is the very fulfillment of God’s promise in Psalm 46:10b—“I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.” God Himself declares His purpose to be known and honored everywhere, not just in one time or culture. Centuries later, Jesus Christ steps onto history’s stage and embodies that universal exaltation: He lives the sinless life we all fail to live, dies the atoning death we deserved, and rises in triumph so that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow … and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:10-11). In other words, the global glory Psalm 46 anticipates finds its concrete expression in the crucified and risen King.
Be still long enough to consider two questions: (1) If God’s plan is to exalt Himself in every nation, am I willing to recognize Him now rather than at the final judgment when it will be too late? and (2) Since that plan centers on Jesus, what will I do with His claim to be the only Savior? God’s universal reign is not a threat but a refuge—Psalm 46 begins with “God is our refuge and strength.” Because Jesus has already borne judgment for all who repent and trust Him, the exaltation of God becomes good news: anyone, from any background, can lay down rebellion, receive forgiveness, and join the worldwide choir praising Christ. Will you respond today, while the refuge of grace is open? Psalm 46:10b is not just an ancient lyric but a living invitation from the God who will indeed be exalted—and who offers eternal joy to all who bow the knee to His Son.
